The GA Motorsports Alfa 156 will not be seen in this year's Dunlop British Touring Car Championship until either Croft or Mondello according to a statement made by team boss, Mike Thompson.

The team has cited delays in completing the car that Jamie Spence will drive to their satisfaction, and is aiming for top six finishes when the job is done.

"We have decided to delay the debut of our Alfa 156 until either Croft or Mondello," says Thompson.

"Bearing in mind our poor performance in 2004 after a successful 2003 we are determined that the car should perform both in terms of reliability and outright speed.

"Owing to a further delay in completing the car to our satisfaction we will not be in a position to do the testing we need in time for the next 2 race weekends. Jamie Spence, our confirmed driver is in full agreement with the delay. He is as determined as us to be in the position to match the high standards being set by Dynamics, Triple 8 and SEAT.

"While we do not expect it to be easy to break into the top six, this is our aim. We are very pleased with the standard to which the car is being built but are determined not to race before we are completely ready."
