Plato stays with BMR Racing in BTCC
Two-time British Touring Car champion Jason Plato will remain at BMR Racing Subaru for 2018 in his 20th season in the series.
Last year the 50-year-old celebrated his 50th pole position and 96th race win in BTCC and is duly targeting a century of wins this year to fuel his charge for a third drivers’ title.
BMR Racing sticks with its Subaru Levorg Sport Tourers which Plato’s team-mate Ashley Sutton guided to the BTCC titles last year with Plato eager to emulate that success.

“I’m really looking forward to 2018. We have some exciting new developments in progress which should see the Adrian Flux BMR Subaru Levorgs fighting at the sharp end of the grid yet again. April can’t come soon enough.” Plato said.
Warren Scott, BMR Racing team principal, has echoed his driver’s comments as his squad looks to defend its BTCC titles in 2018.
“I am pleased to retain Jason in the team for another year and am looking forward to supporting him as he searches for his 100th win, as well as during his fight for the championship throughout what promises to be an unforgettable year,” Scott said.
Plato has clinched the BTCC drivers’ title in 2001 and 2010 having made his debut in the series back in 1997.
