Redline Racing's Dino Zamparelli will start the opening Porsche Carrera Cup GB race of 2018 from pole position after topping the opening qualifying session of the year at Brands Hatch.

Last season's championship runner-up successfully replicated his promising practice form from yesterday's running and subsequently ended the 30-minute shootout at the top of the timesheets ahead of JTR's Lewis Plato.

Zamparelli's best lap of a 46.139s was good enough to put his second generation Redline Racing prepared 911 GT3 Cup machine 0.209s ahead of Plato in second.

Behind the top two, JTR's Dan Harper missed out on the front row by just 0.058s, while Tio Ellinas joins the JTR runner on the second row on the grid after setting the fourth fastest time.

George Gamble and Tom Wrigley completed the third row of the grid ahead of the leading Pro Am runner Jamie Orton in seventh. Orton was just 0.052s shy of usurping his JTR stablemate Wrigley to upset the Pro order.

Dan Vaughn marked Motorbase Performance's return to the Carrera Cup in fine fashion after producing a late charge up the order to the eighth fastest time as the second quickest Pro Am runner.

Vaughn's rise up the order came at the expense of Seb Perez and Rory Collingbourne, who both completed the overall top-ten order as the third and fourth fastest Pro Am drivers.

Elsewhere, Peter Kyle-Henney took dominated the Am category qualifying by a margin of almost 0.7s ahead of Peter Mangion. The pair will line up in 14th and 15th ahead of tomorrow's opening race.
