Mike Jordan says he has been overwhelmed by the messages of support he has received following his accident in the final rounds of the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship at Silverstone.

The Team Eurotech driver was airlifted to hospital with head injuries and a punctured lung after the race two incident, when contact with Jason Plato and James Thompson saw him slam into the wall on the outside of the final corner.

Jordan is now recovering at home and said he was thrilled by the amount of support he has received in the weeks following the accident.

"It's been unbelievable," he said. "I've been completely overwhelmed by the number of messages, cards and phone calls we've had. It really does mean a lot to me that we've had so many messages from all over. The response from the whole of the BTCC paddock has been remarkable as well as that from fans and marshals. I just want to sincerely thank everyone who has taken the trouble to make contact."

Jordan spent the weekend at Croft overseeing his son Andrew competing in the final round of the British Rallycross Championship and was delighted when he dominated both finals.

"We had a great day yesterday and it was a brilliant end to a week that started rather differently for us!" he said. "Lots and lots of the marshals at Croft stopped by to see how I was and that really means a lot to me."
