F1 Gossip: Andretti-Sauber takeover deal hits the buffers?

Multiple reports have claimed Michael Andretti’s hopes of acquiring an F1 team have been unsuccessful after the parties failed to agree terms for a sale. 

The breakdown in talks is set to end IndyCar driver’s Colton Herta’s slim chances of joining the F1 grid in 2022. 

An Alfa Romeo spokesperson said: “We have no comment to make about these rumours. Any discussion, past, present or future in relation to the ownership of the team is the responsibility of the shareholders and not something about which the team will offer any statement.”
