Felipe Massa has hit out at the way in which the medical response team reacted to his two accidents at the Monaco Grand Prix.

The Brazilian, who had reason to be thankful to F1's medical set-up following his life-threatening shunt in qualifying for the 2009 Hungarian Grand Prix, suffered two near-identical accidents over the Monaco weekend which left him skating into the tyre wall at Ste Devote. It was notable in both instances, however, that the Ferrari driver could be seen sitting on top of the TecPro wall for some time after the impact, before being taken to the medical centre.

"It took 13 minutes for the ambulance to get there," Massa is quoted as telling Germany's Auto Motor und Sport, having previously raised the matter during the drivers' briefing in Montreal, "I had to climb over fences to get to it."

Fortunately, Massa's injuries amount to little more than severe muscle soreness following the similar impact on Saturday, and he was back in the cockpit for this weekend's Canadian race.

Somewhat incredibly, he then crashed out of qualifying for the second event running, this time after braking with his left-hand wheels on the painted white line approaching turn three.

"My time was not good enough to get to Q3, so I was risking everything - and ended up risking too much," he told Brazil's totalrace.com.
