Formula One may never return to Mexico after it was revealed that its home in the country was under threat from developers.


Parts of the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez circuit will have to be broken up if plans to overhaul the sports complex which houses it are approved. New drainage facilities are proposed under the existing track surface, and the government cannot guarantee that the circuit will be relaid without investment from the private sector.
