Mercedes Buys Mclaren Stake.
It has been revealed that Mercedes has bought a share of the successful McLaren team, despite denials that this would happen.
The German giant has apparently bought 40 per cent of the Woking team in a multi-million pound deal. The move, which Mercedes has said always appealed to them, follow a similar agreement between engine supplier Ford and Jackie Stewart's eponymous outfit.
Ford, however, bought Stewart Grand Prix outright, and is expected to rename or rebadge the team under one of its brands.
