Sauber sign Massa for 2002.

Team Sauber-Petronas have today announced that have signed 20 year-old Brazilian Felipe Massa, the new European F3000 series champion, as their driver for 2002.

Massa will replace the McLaren bound Kimi Raikkonen and F1 insiders are already claiming that Ferrari have helped Massa get the drive as they see him as a good prospect for the future.

Team boss Peter Sauber said: "By deciding on Felipe we have once again opted for a talented young driver. He convinced us with his excellent performance during tests at Mugello, where he demonstrated his promising potential in a remarkable manner."

Felipe Massa added: "I am delighted that I will be working with Team Red Bull Sauber-Petronas next year. I hope that I will be able to contribute to the team's success and help it to defend this year's outstanding position in the World Championship for Constructors."
