McLaren-Mercedes 'third driver' Alexander Wurz set the pace yesterday [Tuesday] at the Mugello circuit, Italy.
Wurz completed 89 laps in the McLaren-Mercedes MP4-17 and set a best lap of 1 minute 23.305 seconds - a time that was six tenths up on the other McLaren, which was second, driven by Jean Alesi.

Alesi who was taking part in his second test for the Woking based team completed 82 laps.
Toyota's Mika Salo and Allan McNish were the only other two drivers at the track, Salo registering the best time of the two, a 1 minute 25.478 seconds.
Testing continues at Mugello today [Wednesday] when Ferrari will join proceedings.
