Stewart and Berger visit Bahrain.

Three times F1 world champion, Sir Jackie Stewart and former grand prix winner, Gerhard Berger both visited the Bahrain International Circuit today [Tuesday], ahead of the official opening tomorrow.

Berger made an unscheduled visit as he was in Dubai so popped over, to check out F1's newest venue.

Three times F1 world champion, Sir Jackie Stewart and former grand prix winner, Gerhard Berger both visited the Bahrain International Circuit today [Tuesday], ahead of the official opening tomorrow.

Berger made an unscheduled visit as he was in Dubai so popped over, to check out F1's newest venue.

During the day Sir Jackie was on hand to give H.H. Shaikh Salman Bin Hamad Al Khalifa, The Crown Prince, an exclusive driver insight into the cars that will take to the track tomorrow, including the 1954 Mercedes Benz 196 Streamliner, which dominated early grand prix racing.

They also inspected the two Williams' at the track, including the Saudia-sponsored Williams FW07 and the 2003 Williams-BMW FW25, the latter of which will be driven by test driver, Marc Gene tomorrow.

Former favourite Jean Alesi will also be on track, he will pilot the 1954 Mercedes Benz 196 Streamliner, to give the opening a true sense of grandeur.

The Bahrain Grand Prix, the first ever in the Middle East takes place early next month on 04.04.04 [April 4 2004]. It will be round three of the 18 round series. The Malaysian GP - round 2 - is this coming weekend.
