Fauzy back in Spyker.

Spyker F1's Malaysian test driver Fairuz Fauzy returned to the Formula 1 cockpit in Santa Pod, UK on Thursday to put in a further day's testing for the Silverstone-based outfit.

Spyker F1's Malaysian test driver Fairuz Fauzy returned to the Formula 1 cockpit in Santa Pod, UK on Thursday to put in a further day's testing for the Silverstone-based outfit.

In warm, sunny conditions, the Malaysian assisted the team with its aero development programme, the first time he has been in the F8-VII since the team's four-day test at Paul Ricard back in May.

"It was great to be back in the F1 car," said Fairuz. "We concentrated on aero development and control systems and had a very productive day.

"Santa Pod is not really a complete track, but it's quite bumpy, fun and challenging to drive. We didn't have any problems and it was nice to be able to get some more mileage in a Formula One car. I'm looking forward to getting some more time later in the season."

Thus far this season, the 24-year-old has also been competing in the World Series by Renault. So far Fairuz has enjoyed some promising results and in the last round of the series at the Hungaroring, secured his best result of the season so far; second place, just half a second behind the winner.
