Sebastian Vettel will be forced to start ten places lower on the grid for the Chinese Grand Prix after being punished for his collision with Mark Webber in the Japanese Grand Prix.

Vettel hit the back of Webber under the safety car period as they were running second and third after claiming to be distracted by Lewis Hamilton up ahead.

Placing both out of the race, Vettel was deemed to have breached Article 16.1 in the Formula 1 Sporting Regulations in causing an avoidable collision and as a result will be slapped with a ten place grid penalty for his maiden Chinese Grand Prix in Shanghai.
