Formula 1's rookies gave by-and-large a strong account of themselves in 2008, notching up 92 points between them as they staked their claim to a prolonged future in the sport.

Whilst Sebastian Vettel - not strictly a rookie, but with only eight grands prix under his belt before the start of the season - undeniably led the way with his scintillating Italian Grand Prix success at Monza for Scuderia Toro Rosso, there were also a number of strong performances from compatriot Timo Glock, who gradually increased in both confidence and stature as the year progressed to end proceedings every bit a match for swift and experienced Toyota team-mate Jarno Trulli.

Nelsinho Piquet and Kazuki Nakajima also enjoyed their days in the sun, with the former enduring a torrid start to his top flight career but recovering to go on to hassle double F1 World Champion team-mate Fernando Alonso on occasion, and the latter similarly giving the highly-rated Nico Rosberg cause to look over his shoulder several times. Both did enough to earn a second shot in 2009.

Last but by no means least, finally, is S?bastien Bourdais, who fought back from early-season pressure to take the fight to STR team-mate Vettel, as the record-breaking four-time Champ Car king qualified six times in the last seven races inside the top ten, and was unlucky indeed to be deprived of points in both Belgium and Japan.

Now, then, is your chance to have your say - who was the most impressive F1 rookie of 2008?
