The release date for the second season of Netflix's Formula 1 docu-series, Drive to Survive, has been confirmed.

Following the success of the first series of Drive to Survive, Formula 1 announced earlier this year it had struck a deal for a second season, this time including all 10 teams after Mercedes and Ferrari took no part in the 2018 filming.

Netflix cameras were in the paddock throughout the 2019 season filming for the second season, with a release date now emerging.

As per a teaser from Netflix's French account on Twitter sent out this morning, Season 2 of Drive to Survive is scheduled to be released on February 28, nine days earlier than in 2019.

F1 followed up this teaser by officially confirming February 28 as the worldwide launch date.

Few firm details are known about the second series of Drive to Survive beyond the additional participation of Ferrari and Mercedes, but the latter's disastrous German Grand Prix weekend is set to be a focal point of one of the episodes.

Charles Leclerc's emotional home victory for Ferrari at Monza is also understood to be the main theme for an episode, as is the rise of Alexander Albon following his move from Toro Rosso to Red Bull.

The success of Drive to Survive's first season is widely credited with the recent growth in new, young F1 viewers, with 62 percent of new fans reported to be under the age of 35.
