Karel Abraham will give MotoGP grid numbers a welcome boost in 2011 after confirming his intentions to graduate to the premier class next season.

The Moto2 rider confirmed on his personal website that he has this week signed a contract to take to the grid aboard a Ducati Desmosedici GP11 under the Cardion AB Motoracing banner that currently prepares his Moto2 entry.

Expected to be formally announced ahead of the Czech Grand Prix at the Brno Masaryk circuit, which is owned by Abraham's father, it is anticipated that the youngster has acquired an additional satellite Ducati and that there is no threat to current operatives Pramac and Aspar.

The 20-year-old has been a mainstay in the lower grand prix classes since making his 125cc debut in 2005, but is yet to score a podium at any level. He is currently 14th in the Moto2 standings with a best finish of fourth at Catalunya.
