Retired double world champion Casey Stoner will take part in his latest Ducati test at Misano this week.

Ducati has confirmed to Crash.net that the Australian star will be on riding on Wednesday and Thursday, alongside fellow development rider Michele Pirro.

Aprilia will be also present at the San Marino MotoGP venue, with Sam Lowes making his MotoGP debut.

Stoner, Ducati's 2007 world champion, rejoined the Italian factory at the start of this season as both a test rider and brand ambassador.

The Australian rode last year's GP15 during pre-season testing at Sepang, then made his debut on the 2016 machine during a rain-interrupted post-race test in Qatar.

Following the Misano test, Stoner will return to the circuit for World Ducati Week from July 1-3.
