MotoGP is making its debut in Thailand this weekend as the second of three official pre-season tests takes place at Buriram.

The circuit, which has held three World Superbike events, is to stage the inaugural Thai MotoGP race on October 7.

This week's three-day outing, which began on Friday and concludes this (Sunday) evening, is primarily to prepare for the grand prix - by gathering data for the teams, evaluating potential tyres for Michelin and checking the facilities.

Malaysian Hafizh Syahrin is making his MotoGP debut for Monster Yamaha Tech3 this week in what is effectively a final audition for the 2018 race seat vacated by Jonas Folger.

KTM's Pol Espargaro is absent due to injuries at the previous Sepang test.

Testing runs from 9am to 5pm.
