UPDATE: Morbidelli has had another lap cancelled and now drops to eleventh place, putting Miller into the top ten and direct access to Qualifying 2.

Nakagami puts the 2020 Honda chassis on top of the timesheets during Free Practice 3 for the Spanish MotoGP at Jerez, while Marc Marquez suffers a massive accident in the closing minutes of the session.

Returning to the scene of his broken right arm last July, Marquez lost the front of his Repsol Honda on entry to the fast Turn 7 – sending him skimming across the gravel and into the airfence.

The eight time world champion was clearly shaken but eventually able to walk away and returned to the pits on the back of a scooter, fortunately without any apparent damage to his right arm, which has required three rounds of surgery since last July.

After being examined at the medical centre, Repsol Honda confirmed that Marquez 'has no major injuries, suffering only a contusion'.
