World champion Nicki Pedersen has been confirmed as Eastbourne's top rider for next season. The Dane has agreed a new deal with the club who are hoping to secure a longer term arrangement with his parent club Wolverhampton.

Eagles co-promoter Jon Cook said: "We're delighted to have Nicki back on board. As world champion he has a very refreshing attitude, he hasn't let success go to his head."

Pedersen will ride with the long-serving David Norris, Adam Shileds and rising star Edward Kennett. One of the remaining places may be taken by Joonas Kylmakoorpi.

Out of Arlington go ex-world champion Mark Loram and also Dean Barker. Both will turn out for new Elite League members Arena Essex in 2004.
