The evening meeting , at 7.30pm, is the 14th British Open Championship and features sixteen top international riders in competition for the title.
In addition to Pedersen and Smith, other riders on display include defending British Open champion Jan Staechmann and former winner Mario Jirout
Co- promoter Graham Drury believes that the 2002 event will be better than ever saying: "We always promise a mix of established riders and newcomers and this year is no exception".
"The inclusion of two Grand Prix riders, Nicki Pedersen and Andy Smith, should guarantee some great action and both did well at Telford last year".
"We regard Pedersen, in particular, as real box office because he can cause total havoc on the track. He is a real racer and even though Telford is the world's smallest speedway circuit, he rides flat out from start to finish."
