The Misano WorldSBK round will see Bimota run a special edition livery for the team’s second home race.

The livery adds green around the top of the front part of the fairing to the standard red and white colours that Bimota has run so far in its return season to World Superbike.

It is a one-off paint job in tribute to the national colours of Italy, and in a sense it is a nod to the Kawasaki funding behind the project and powerplant beneath the fairing of the KB998.

“The progress of our WorldSBK racing project goes hand in hand with the continuous development of the Bimota retail range, including the recently announced KB998 Rimini and Tera motorcycles,” said COO of Bimota Pierluigi Marconi.

“For existing and new Bimota fans worldwide, we want to proudly display our Italian heritage at Misano, and what better way to reflect that than adopting the green of the Italian flag.”

As well as the Bimota factory itself, the Misano round is also the home round of Axel Bassani – the top Bimota rider in the 2025 standings by two points over Alex Lowes.

“This weekend we will have another home race. It is always good to ride at home and especially because this time we are really close to the Bimota factory, only 20 minutes away,” said Bassani.

“It is a real home round. Like always, I hope to enjoy it, to push 100% on track and give to Bimota what they deserve – some good results.

“We will try to continue to improve the bike set-up. We know which areas we have to improve. It is not easy to improve immediately but I hope in the near future we can.

“Now, the level of WorldSBK is really high and we have a brand new bike this year. We are trying to do our best and after the recent test at Misano I am feeling quite good.

“Our pace is not bad. So, with team I think we can do a good job during the weekend.”

For Lowes, the Misano round will be about capitalising on the work done at the Misano test a couple of weeks ago.

“It’s going to be a fun weekend at the real home race for Bimota,” he said.

“We worked hard at the Misano test a few weeks ago and learned a lot about the bike. Since the test we’ve been working hard to analyse the data and put everything together for race weekend.

“The track itself is a lot of fun to ride and I want to keep trying to improve and fight for our best results of the season with the Bimota KB998.”
