Falzon leads Australian World Superbike wildcard entries

Daniel Falzon has been announced as one of three World Superbike wildcard entries for the 2018 season opener at Phillip Island.

Falzon will be joined on the WSBK grid by fellow ASBK contenders Wayne Maxwell, who will both compete under the Yamaha Racing Team banner, and Troy Herfoss who has been entered as a Honda wildcard rider.

Daniel Falzon has been announced as one of three World Superbike wildcard entries for the 2018 season opener at Phillip Island.

Falzon will be joined on the WSBK grid by fellow ASBK contenders Wayne Maxwell, who will both compete under the Yamaha Racing Team banner, and Troy Herfoss who has been entered as a Honda wildcard rider.

In the World Supersport championship Tom Toparis has been handed a wildcard entry for the Cube Racing Kawasaki Team for his debut in the series having previously enjoyed a one-off appearance in the Moto3 world championship at Phillip Island last year.

All four will link up with the World Superbike paddock at Phillip Island on the 23-25 February with the ASBK championship also running on the race programme that weekend. The Australian round marks the 2018 opening round in World Superbikes with Jonathan Rea taking five of the past six race wins at the iconic circuit.
