Federico Caricasulo has held off a late charge from GRT Yamaha teammate Lucas Mahias to keep hold of the top spot in the final practice session at Imola.
The Italian rider edged out his fellow factory-supported Yamaha rider by just 0.065s to take a slender advantage into qualifying later today at his home circuit. The pair continue to pull clear of the chasing pack over a single lap with third place rider Sandro Cortese almost a quarter of a second off of Caricasulo for Kallio Racing Yamaha.
Jules Cluzel makes it an all-Yamaha top four on the NRT squad bike with Raffaele De Rosa breaks the run by putting his MV Agusta in fifth place in FP3.
Randy Krummenacher found some useful gains in the final free practice session to take sixth spot ahead of five-time World Supersport champion Kenan Sofuoglu who is making his final appearance before retiring due to injury worries.
