Rain forces race one postponement

The opening British Superbike Championship race of the day at Knockhill has been suspended after a torrential downpour.

The race got underway in wet conditions before the heavens opened at the end of the opening lap, organisers proceeding to deploy the red flags shortly afterwards as visibility plummeted.

Despite the conditions, no serious accidents occurred, with Josh Brookes leading initially, ahead of Michael Rutter, James Ellison and Alastair Seeley.

There is no word on when the race is expected to restart or whether it will be cancelled altogether.
