HiQ MSA British Touring Car Championship trio Matt Neal, Gordon Shedden and Tom Chilton enjoyed a successful weekend of competition in the Round the Island yachting race off the Isle of Wight.

The trio were joined by Dave Pinkney and James Kaye aboard the 50ft Carpicorno vessel, skippered by John Tildesley for the event.

In a race containing some 2000 vessels, the touring car stars came home second in class after avoiding the bad luck that hit some of their rivals in the event - with one boat sinking, one over-turning and capsizing, four suffering broken masts, five becoming grounded and five needed to be towed back to shore.

Prior to the event, Neal, Shedden and Chilton also took to the waves for a practice run with Ellen MacArthur, treble Olympic gold medallist Ben Ainslie and double Olympic medallist Shirley Robertson.
