Villeneuve Threatens Zanardi.

Former Champcar stars Jacques Villeneuve and Alex Zanardi exchanged words in the Silverstone paddock following a disagreement in practice for the British Grand Prix.

The Canadian claimed Zanardi was driving irresponsibly in one of the free practice sessions, and swerved in front of the BAR when he didn't see it in his mirrors. Aggrieved at losing vital set-up time while his damaged undertray was replaced, Villeneuve stormed into the Williams pit and threatened to put Zanardi in the wall if the Italian obstructed him again.

Aggrieved at losing vital set-up time while his damaged undertray was replaced, Villeneuve stormed into the Williams pit and threatened to put Zanardi in the wall if the Italian obstructed him again.

Zanardi reacted with good humour, claiming that it was a mere difference of opinion.

"I just came out of a corner and I saw he was angry with me. I probably held him up, but it is obvious that I didn't do it deliberately. What's the point of blocking someone in free practice? If it's just to see your name up on the screen, I've got problems bigger than that."
