Antonio Pizzonia or Nick Heidfeld?

It's 'likely to be close' - that's the latest to emerge from Williams, as they look to make a decision on who will partner Mark Webber in 2005.

While Frank Williams will be pondering who should get the drive over his Christmas turkey, a decision is expected before the teams livery launch in Bahrain on January 7.

A team insider told British newspaper, The Guardian, that while Pizzonia was originally the favourite, Heidfeld has impressed and now the decision is anybodies guess.

"Pizzonia was originally the favourite for the drive," the source told the broadsheet, "but then Heidfeld really showed himself to be worth another long look and was particularly impressive in the wet.

"In response to this it looks as though Pizzonia has raised his game even further, so it's likely to be close.

"They are both obviously pretty confident."

Pizzonia, who raced this year for Williams, while standing in for Ralf Schumacher, following his crash at the US Grand Prix, made his F1 debut in 2003 for Jaguar. However he failed to impress, and was ousted in favour of Justin Wilson, following the British GP - something that is no doubt giving Williams cause for concern.

Heidfeld, meanwhile, started in F1 in 2000 with Prost, and while he has never set the world alight, he has also never really had the car to prove his stuff. In 84 grand's prix, he has scored 28 points, and in 2004, he impressed many people up and down the paddock, despite Jordan's lack of competitiveness.

One thing is for sure, Williams don't want a 'turkey'!!!
