Yonny Hernandez and the Avintia Racing team have added their names to the roster of CRT winners after concluding a successful weekend with a strong run to the overall top ten at Indianapolis.

The Colombian racer was in convincing form throughout the event as he took the challenge to the fairly dominant Aspar ART machines of Aleix Espargaro and Randy de Puniet, Hernandez proceeding to carry that form to the race to prevail over his rivals.

An impressive performance for the rookie Avintia team, whose Kawasaki-powered machine has shown marked improvements recent races, Hernandez was delighted to be finishing in ninth place.

"I have no words to explain what I felt when crossing the finish line and being with Pedrosa, Lorenzo and Dovizioso in the 'yard'! The team did a great job and has managed to give me a bike that I feel very comfortable with. The evolution of the new chassis and swing-arm gives me much confidence and allows me to give the maximum.

"Now, initially I have more grip on the rear wheel and is shown in the final laps as we did not lose grip. Since the start of the season to now we have taken a major leap forward. I'm excited and I can only thank the team and try to continue in this line in the next races."
