SAG Team:"The SAG Team cries the loss of Luis Salom.

"The SAG Team rider, Luis Salom, died today at the Circuit of Barcelona-Catalunya during the second free practice of the journey. A fatal crash occurred in the second-last corner of the track produced several injuries on Luis and, despite the efforts of the medical services to reanimate him, anything was enough to safe his life.

"Luis Salom, a 24 years old rider, joined the team based on Barcelona this season and reached a valuable podium at the season opening race held in Qatar, where he was second. His SAG Team incorporation provided experience and compromise to the squad, and his extroverted character gained quickly the esteem of the whole SAG Team members.

"Edu Perales: 'Today's a truly sad journey for the SAG Team family and the sports world in general; Luis left us in a corner of the circuit competing, making what he loved. For a family as we are, that enjoyed his successes and work, his smile and determination, his loss leaves a big emptiness in our hearts. Today, the SAG Team joins the sadness of his family and friends. Rest in peace Luis, thanks for everything you gave us during the time we spent together, I'm sure you will keep fighting up there, we will never forget you'."

Yamaha: "Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd., the Movistar Yamaha MotoGP team and its riders, Jorge Lorenzo and Valentino Rossi, express their heartfelt condolences to the family, friends and team of Moto2 Spanish rider Luis Salom, who tragically passed away today at Montmel?. R.I.P. Luis."

Leopard Racing:"Friday's Moto2 action in Barcelona came to an early end as Luis Salom fell at Turn 12. The session was stopped to ensure he could receive medical attention, tragically the rider lost his life.

"A fierce competitor and a fiery character, Salom was always a fighter and had many great battles with both Danny Kent and Miguel Oliveira in Moto3 and Moto2. Today results and times do not matter and Leopard Racing would like to send their deepest condolences to the family and friends of Luis Salom.
