Amor splits with team on eve of season

Keith Amor has parted company with his JMF Millsport Yamaha team just three weeks before the start of the road racing season.

With just weeks to go before the 2010 road racing season starts, Keith Amor has split with the JMF/Millsport Yamaha team.

Amor is one of road racing's biggest names, in the top 10 of fastest-ever riders at the Isle of Man TT and one of the few to regularly challenge Ryan Farquhar in 2009.

A short statement from the Scottish rider offered no explanation as to why he had split with the team he signed for in August.

He did admit he now faces a race against time to find competitive machinery before the season starts.

He said:

"It's a real shame that things haven't worked out between myself and JMF, but I'd like to wish them well for the future and I'm now looking forward to the new season and will make a further announcement in due course."

"I'm still very much focused on improving my results from last year and firmly intend to be challenging for wins and podiums at the International road races."
