Wednesday washout at Isle of Man TT, five races on Thursday

Racing has been cancelled by bad weather for a second consecutive day at the Isle of Man TT to set up a five-race schedule on Thursday.

After Tuesday’s washout due to heavy rain and low cloud, Wednesday had looked better with less persistent rain and brighter conditions for the second Monster Energy Supersport TT and Bennetts Lightweight TT.

But intermittent rain and heavy showers hit parts of the 37.73-mile course throughout the day which meant no races could be run.

Both the second Supersport TT and Lightweight TT have been rescheduled for Thursday, which is also set to host the RL360 Superstock TT, the second Locate.im Sidecar TT and the SES TT Zero races.

Thursday’s schedule sees non-stop action planned starting with a Senior/Superstock qualifying at 11:50 before the second Supersport TT at 12:45 followed by the Sidecar TT race two at 13:50.

The Superstock TT is set to begin at 14:55 before the roads are briefly reopened to the public between 17:00-18:00.

To round out Thursday, the Lightweight TT starts the evening action at 18:30 before the TT Zero at 19:30 and a final Senior qualifying at 20:10.

Friday hosts the six-lap Dunlop Senior TT, scheduled to start at 10:30, subject to the weather conditions.

The 2019 Isle of Man TT has been badly hit by poor weather, with just three days of practice run, which triggered a delay of the first races from Saturday (June 1st) to Monday (June 3rd).

Peter Hickman grabbed victory in a red-flagged RST Superbike TT for Smiths Racing BMW following a tragic incident in which Daley Mathison died.

Ben and Tom Birchall secured a sixth consecutive Sidecar TT victory in the second race of the day, with Lee Johnston taking his maiden TT triumph by winning the opening Supersport race which was ended at the end of Lap 2 due to rain.
