Nicolo Bulega continues title focus as WorldSBK record looms
Nicolo Bulega insists his focus is on the WorldSBK title, not win streak records, in Hungary.

Nicolo Bulega maintains his stance that the 2026 WorldSBK title is his priority over any records he may claim.
Bulega leads the World Superbike riders’ standings by 69 points after the opening three rounds, the Italian having won all nine races so far and scored pole position at all three rounds.
The factory Ducati rider now stands level with Toprak Razgatlioglu on 13 consecutive victories in WorldSBK, meaning a win in Race 1 this weekend would give him the record win streak at 14.
Bulega, though, insists he is unbothered by the record in comparison to the greater goal of the championship.
“Honestly, okay, records are very important, but for me ‘important’ is to win the championship,” Nicolo Bulega told WorldSBK.com ahead of the Hungarian Round this weekend (1–3 May).
“It’s important to see my name in this kind of list, it’s very nice, but honestly at the moment I’m focused on the championship.
“If I have the possibility to win the race I will do it, but if I don’t it’s not so important because at the moment important is to take very important points for the championship.”
Bulega added that he hopes to continue his strong form this weekend.
“We arrive from some very nice weekends for us,” he said. “We are in a very nice moment for me, my team, me with my bike – everything is working very good, so I hope to continue in that way.”
Finally, Iker Lecuona was Bulega’s closest challenger in Portugal and the Netherlands, and the Italian thinks the Spaniard could be stronger still at Balaton.
“I think Iker [Lecuona] is very strong, was strong in the last races,” Bulega said.
“Maybe this track he will be even stronger, so we will see during the weekend.”
Lecuona himself was also confident about his chances at Balaton, feeling it is a circuit that suits him more than his teammate.
