The Aruba.it Racing Ducati squad has officially presented the new V4 R which will contest the 2019 World Superbike championship.

Chaz Davies and Alvaro Bautista were on hand to reveal the team’s 2019 colours during the presentation of the Panigale V4 R fresh from pre-season testing action at Jerez and Portimao.

The new Superbike has been in testing and development for one year, with the V4 R breaking covers during last year’s pre-season tests, while the factory Ducati squad got to grips with the new bike at the first post-season tests last November.

Davies, who claimed 25 World Superbike race wins on the Panigale V-twin for the factory Ducati squad, is joined by Bautista who switches from MotoGP this season as replacement for Marco Melandri.

Ducati recently launched its road version of the V4 R in order to homologate the bike in time for the 2019 campaign. There will be four Ducati V4 R Superbikes on the 2019 grid with Barni Racing fielding Michael Ruben Rinaldi and Team Go Eleven partnering with Eugene Laverty.

The 2019 World Superbike campaign gets underway at Phillip Island with a final pre-season test on February 18-19 ahead of the season opener on February 22-24.
