Razgatlioglu and Scott Redding were the two standouts in both qualifying and race trim as they were seperated by just 0.050s.

In the opening session of the weekend, Razgatlioglu was five tenths clear of Kawasaki riders Rea and Alex Lowes.

Michael Van Der Mark and Lucas Mahias both had technical issues in FP1 and remained in pit lane during the opening stages, while Samuele Cavalieri and Chaz Davies had problems of their own in the afternoon.

Alvaro Bautista and Honda’s crashing issues continued, as the Spaniard fell twice during FP1. Bautista then took his tally for the day up to three during FP2 as he crashed at turn one.

Barni Racing Ducati rider Tito Rabat and BMW’s Tom Sykes also had an early tumble during the afternoon session, while Kohta Nozane had a big crash at the final turn which brought out a red flag with two minutes remaining. The Japanese rider was okay as he returned to his feet and was aided away from the track by marshals.
