Full BSB qualifying results from Knockhill

Jake Dixon has secured his first pole position of 2018 to edge out Josh Brookes in qualifying at Knockhill.

The RAF Regular & Reserves Kawasaki rider notched up a lap record 47.158s on the recently resurfaced Scottish circuit to claim pole position at the track he secured his maiden Bennetts British Superbike race wins 12 months ago.

Dixon’s effort edged out McAMS Yamaha’s Brookes by just 0.098s while BSB championship leader Leon Haslam completed the front row on the JG Speedfit Kawasaki.

Glenn Irwin, who initially held the Knockhill lap record after FP3, will head up the front of the second row for Be Wiser Ducati ahead of Friday’s fastest rider Danny Buchan on the FS-3 Racing Kawasaki with less than three-tenths of the second splitting the top five.

Michael Laverty completes row two for Tyco BMW in front of Buildbase Suzuki’s Bradley Ray and with Christian Iddon (Tyco BMW) and Dan Linfoot (Honda) completing the third row.

James Ellison narrowly missed out on the Q3 shootout for Anvil Hire TAG Yamaha but starts from 10th on the grid with Richard Cooper (Buildbase Suzuki) and Jason O’Halloran (Honda) rounding out the fourth row.

Earlier in the day Moto Rapido Ducati split with Taylor Mackenzie at his home round following a difficult start to 2018.
