Triple Eight reveals Porsche plans

Having previously announced plans to expand into the BTCC support package for 2011, Triple Eight has revealed that it is finalising plans to enter the Porsche Carrera Cup GB next season.

The team, which has won 20 BTCC titles over the last decade while running the factory Vauxhall team, has been keeping an eye on the Carrera Cup GB for some time and following discussions with Porsche Cars GB and various drivers, has decided to enter the Carrera Cup GB in 2011, subject to the allocation of cars.

"Our vast experience in British Touring Cars means that we have the technical expertise as well as the knowledge of all the tracks where the Porsche Carrera Cup GB races," Triple Eight boss Ian Harrison said. "We have been looking at entering this series for a while now and with the introduction of the new model 911GT3 Cup car for 2011, we feel that the time is right for us to take part in what is a very competitive championship."

The team hopes to finalise its plans before the end of the 2010 season.
