Power Maxed Racing has announced Martin Broadhurst as its new team manager for the upcoming British Touring Car Championship.

The former Tripe Eight Racing chief will join the Warwickshire-based team immediately and will be responsible for performance, operations and personnel for the 2015 season. Broadhurst has strong motorsport pedigree after working with major WRC teams of Prodrive Subaru and Mitsubishi before switching to touring cars with Triple Eight.

The team is currently preparing for the new BTCC season, refining its new Chevrolet Cruze Saloon for Dave Newsham. Power Maxed Racing recently purchased the team from BTCC racer Chris Stockton and have been quick to implement its own personnel.

Adam Weaver, Power Maxed Racing team principal, welcomes Broadhurst and feels he'll provide the team with the experience they had lacked.

"Not only does Martin have a huge wealth of experience, but he's a true leader and a thoroughly nice bloke, all of which are vital to what we want to achieve at Power Maxed Racing," said Weaver.

"We have started the year with such momentum, with new ownership, a new driver and now a new team manager, you'll have to wait and see what's next. It is important I thank Chris Stockton for his help in securing Martin."

Broadhurst feels it is a perfect step in his career to move to Power Maxed, adding: "I was looking for a new challenge, I see great potential in Power Maxed Racing and am confident we can work hard together to achieve great things this season and beyond."
