BMW Pirtek Racing's Andrew Jordan will take no further part in today's British Touring Car Championship meeting at Donington Park following his accident during the opening race.

Jordan started race one from 16th and made good progress after making multiple positions during the opening sequence of corners. However, the 2013 champion's BMW 330i M Sport appeared to be tipped into spin on the exit of Old Hairpin.

As the BMW Pirtek Racing driver attempted to recover control, the oncoming Mercedes A-Class of Adam Morgan was unable to avoid making contact with Jordan's car and subsequently slammed into the side of the West Surrey Racing 3 Series.

As a precaution, Jordan has been taken to hospital for medical checks, meaning he will take no further part in today's races.

Damage to the roll cage of Jordan's BMW sustained from the incident also means his WSR squad are unable to repair the 3 Series on site at Donington Park.
