- Daniel Ricciardo had to face the FIA race stewards after not reattaching his steering wheel after retiring from the race late on. Upon review, Ricciardo was warned about an ERS system alert which made it unsafe to touch the car and was cleared of any punishment.

- Alexander Albon secured his first F1 points and becomes the first Thai driver since Prince Bira finished fourth at the 1954 French Grand Prix.
