Mansell Return Denied.
Stories linking 1992 F1 world champion Nigel Mansell to a drive with the Stewart team next season have been strenuously denied by all parties.
The rumours that Mansell might be about to make another grand prix comeback with the Milton Keynes based team arose from the amount of time the former Williams driver spent with Stewart at the British Grand Prix. Mansell is thought to be eager to have another crack at F1, and a test with Stewart was mooted for later in the year. But both sides have dismissed the stories as mere speculation.

A spokesperson for Stewart's engine supplier Ford insisted that Mansell was only present with the team at Silverstone because of his connection with the American company's touring car activities. Similarly, the response from the Mansell camp claimed that there was no truth in the rumours, and that the English driver was content to concentrate solely on his BTCC commitments.
