Hector Faubel, the most experienced rider to sign-up for the inaugural Moto3 World Championship, has split from the Aspar team.

An eight-time grand prix winner and former title runner-up in the 125cc class, Faubel's mix of speed and experience looked a promising match for the new four-stroke category.

However the 29-year-old Spaniard has been unable to finish higher than seventh on the Kalex KTM machinery - as taken to victory by Luis Salom and recent Aspar signing Jonas Folger.

Faubel began the season alongside countryman Alberto Moncayo, who was replaced by Folger from Indianapolis.

Grand prix rookie Luca Amato, a frontrunner in the Spanish CEV Moto3 championship, is reported to be taking Faubel's place for the remaining five rounds, creating an all-German Aspar Moto3 line-up.
