Moto3: McPhee to SIC?

John McPhee looks set to leave the CIP KTM team at the end of this season and join the SIC Honda squad for the 2019 Moto3 World Championship.

The Scotsman, winner of the 2016 Czech Republic Grand Prix, has taken five further podiums in the class, most recently at the Sachsenring.

Although McPhee wouldn't name his future team at Brno last weekend, multiple sources say it will be SIC.

"It certainly looks like I'll be continuing in Moto3, although it was nice that there were a couple of Moto2 offers there," McPhee told Crash.net. "Hopefully I should know for sure in the next couple of weeks, which team it'll be and which bike I'll be on."

McPhee finished a career-best seventh in last year's standings on Honda machinery with the British Talent Team, then was placed at CIP when the Dorna-funded project came to an end. He is currently 15th in the world championship.

Meanwhile, Adam Norrodin and Ayumu Sasaki have raced for the SIC Moto3 team for the past two seasons.

Both have aspirations to join the Sepang Circuit's Moto2 team, which is currently a single-bike entry for Niki Tuuli but could expand to two machines in 2019, when SIC will also enter MotoGP as the new satellite Yamaha team.

The SIC Yamaha MotoGP team will be officially presented at Silverstone later this month.
