Just one place on the 2021 MotoGP grid remains officially open after HRC confirmed a new contract extension for LCR's Nakagami.

That remaining seat is the second official Aprilia entry alongside Espargaro and will depend on the outcome of Iannone's doping appeal to the CAS.

However, another change is also expected, with Rabat tipped to leave Avintia before the end of his contract to make way for Luca Marini next season.

Two race winners currently without a place are Andrea Dovizioso and Cal Crutchlow. Dovizioso has announced that he will leave Ducati, while Crutchlow has lost his seat to Alex Marquez.

Their only full-time option would be to replace Iannone at Aprilia, something Crutchlow has expressed interest in, or look towards a factory test riding and wild-card deal, which Dovizioso appears to be leaning towards.
