FIRST LOOK: Aprilia’s 2027 MotoGP prototype on track at Jerez
Aprilia’s 850cc MotoGP machine makes its debut during private testing at Jerez.

Aprilia has released pictures and video of its 2027 850cc MotoGP prototype, during its track debut at a wet Jerez on Wednesday.
After bench testing and some Pirelli tyre data with the current 1000cc RS-GP, Aprilia’s future machine completed its first laps with test rider Lorenzo Savadori during the start of a private test at the Spanish Grand Prix venue.
As well as smaller engines and a change from Michelin to Pirelli tyres, next year’s technical rules place tighter restrictions on aerodynamics, ban ride-height devices and require the use of 100% non-fossil origin fuel.
The Aprilia appeared to be using 2027-spec aero, including a revised nose profile and protruding front wing. The bike is also without any 'seat wings'.

The following video - with sound - features Savadori revving the bike before leaving pit lane, then a clip of the Italian on the home straight before returning to the garage.
Unlike Monday's official Jerez test, lap times are not provided during private testing.
“I will test the 850 here on Wednesday and Thursday,” Savadori had revealed during the Jerez race weekend.
“The engine has been running since last year, but it will be on track for the first time.
“I can’t wait to try the new era of MotoGP. We are happy about the data we saw this winter in Noale.”
Savadori retired on lap seven of Sunday’s race due to his physical condition after a clash with Toprak Razgatlioglu in the Sprint.
Factory Aprilia riders Marco Bezzecchi and Jorge Martin currently lead the 2026 MotoGP standings, after four rounds.
“We are continuing to push also for this year,” Savadori insisted. “I will try new parts during the race weekend, then on Monday, the new parts will go to Bez and Jorge. So we will continue to push.”
KTM and Honda have released first videos of their 850cc prototypes on track in December, with Ducati’s 2027 bike recently spotted in the hands of Michele Pirro at Misano.
Yamaha is the only manufacturer whose 850 is yet to be seen, but next year's M1 is thought to have completed some initial running behind-closed-doors in Japan.
