Marc Marquez “didn’t understand” Jerez MotoGP crash
Marc Marquez admitted fault but also told Ducati he “didn’t understand” Jerez MotoGP crash.

The latest Inside Ducati YouTube video shows Marc Marquez admitting fault for his early fall in the Spanish MotoGP but also telling the team he “didn’t understand what happened”.
Marquez had won the Saturday Sprint race at his home round, despite crashing when a downpour arrived.
But the factory Ducati star was caught out in dry and sunny conditions on lap 2 of the grand prix, crashing at highspeed behind brother Alex Marquez.
“Sorry, my mistake,” Marc Marquez tells Gigi Dall’Igna after returning to the Ducati pit box, while the race - later won by Alex - continued.
Turning to crew chief Marco Rigamonti, he added: “As soon as I touched the gas, I lost it.”
Cameras later cut to Marquez and Rigamonti huddled around a computer.
Pointing to the screen, Rigamonti said: “The only thing I see… You entered the corner a bit before… Before touching the gas, you were already on the limit.”
Dall’Igna then walks over, squeezing Marquez on the shoulders.
“There are days when I understand why I crashed. Not today… I didn’t understand what happened,” Marquez tells the Ducati Corse boss.
“On the second lap, you can’t crash like that… We always take the good… We were fast. We’ll work tomorrow.”
Marquez then asked about the condition of his crashed bike ahead of Monday's official test: “Is the bike broken in two?”
The Spaniard was told only the fuel tank had detached, while Rigamonti smiles: “One of the two [bikes] had to be disassembled anyway!” to incorporate the new parts at the test.
Marquez returned on Monday to complete 68 laps, focusing mainly on aerodynamic developments, and finished as the top Ducati rider in fourth.
The Spaniard quipped that his early retirement at least left him feeling fresher for the test, but it also puts him 44-points behind Aprilia’s title leader Marco Bezzecchi.
Team-mate Pecco Bagnaia also failed to finish the grand prix, due to a technical issue.
