The Suzuki, KTM and Aprilia factory MotoGP teams are present at the Spanish circuit, plus satellite riders from Honda and Ducati.

The factory Ducati team is not taking part, since new signing Jorge Lorenzo was only given permission from Yamaha for the Valencia test. For the same reason, Pol Espargaro is unable to test for KTM - but is present to watch from trackside.

Alex Rins (Suzuki) is missing the test due to injuries at Valencia, while team-mate Andrea Iannone only rode on Wednesday.

Repsol Honda originally planned to attend, but have since changed their minds, while Movistar Yamaha and Monster Yamaha Tech 3 have chosen Sepang in Malaysia for their private test.

The winter test ban then begins on December 1 and runs until the official Sepang test starts at the end of January.

Testing at Jerez concludes on Friday evening, although not all riders are expected to return for the final day, preferring to save their limited private testing for 2017.

Rea is believed to have used a qualifying tyre to set his best time, recording a 1m 39.5s on a race tyre...
