Rookie Quartararo heads the Friday practice timesheets for the Thai MotoGP at Buriram, as Yamaha fill the top three places.

Marquez - who will be crowned the 2019 MotoGP champion if he scores at least two points more than Dovizioso on Sunday - returned to action after a big morning highside required a trip to hospital for checks on his leg and back... and went straight to the top of the timesheets with what was then the best lap of the weekend!

The Repsol Honda rider remained fastest until his rivals fitted new soft rubber in the closing stages. By contrast, Marquez remained on a used soft rear tyre and settled for sixth place.

KTM's Espargaro is returning from a left wrist fracture at Aragon.

Rainstorms are a possibility on Saturday and Sunday.
