Max Biaggi says he is determined to bounce back from a disappointing weekend at Silverstone with a return to form in the tenth round of the World Superbike Championship at the Nurburgring.

The reigning champion was carrying positive momentum to Silverstone following wins at Motorland Aragon and Brno, but crashes and technical issues would consign him to 11th in race one and fourth in race two.

With arch-rival Carlos Checa taking the double win at Silverstone, Biaggi admits he is facing an uphill struggle to keep up with the Spaniard heading into the final four rounds of the season, but is far from giving up on retaining his crown.

"The holidays are over," the Aprilia Alitalia rider said. "We are finally getting back on the track! Despite the break, I still have the half-disappointing Silverstone weekend in my mind. In Germany I want to make up for that.

"In spite of the standings which don't look very promising, we must always aim for the best possible result anyway. I like the circuit and my RSV4 should like it as well. Now we'll just wait to take to the track and evaluate the initial times to begin setting up properly for an important weekend."
