As has been the case for most of the weekend, Rea and Razgatlioglu battled it out for top spot with the Kawasaki rider leading the way initially.
Race one’s maiden podium finisher Axel Bassani had a fast warm-up crash at turn one which brought out a red flag with eight minutes left. The session restarted after a 11 minute delay.
Rea significantly improved on his third lap out of the pits to go over five tenths clear of Tom Sykes, before Andrea Locatelli reduced that gap to go P2.
Separating Locatelli and Razgatlioglu in the top six was Michael Rinaldi, Gerloff and Alvaro Bautista.
Rinaldi had been on course to go top with his final effort, however, the Italian lost out in the final sector, a sector where Rea has regularly been quicker than most.
